Hawks Soar to 9-0 Win over Wildcats

NEW PALTZ, NY — Junior Lauren Martel tallied two goals to help SUNY New Paltz to a 9-0 win over SUNYAC opponent SUNYIT Wednesday afternoon.

Martel put the Hawks on the board first in at the 3:52 mark on a header off a post deflection. The Hawks dominated the rest of the game outshooting the Wildcats 38-4.

Jennifer Anselmi , Amelia Dockerty and Stephanie Potts each added one goal and one assist for the Hawks. Kate Addiss, Courtney Neenan , Alison Fliegel and Kristen Ermides all found the back of the net for New Paltz.

Sarah Boccard posted four saves in net to earn the shutout as the Hawks advance to 5-7-3 on the season and 3-4-2 in SUNYAC play. Laurel Hosmer made 14 saves while Andrea DeSanto posted one save for the Wildcats.

New Paltz travels to Oneonta next on October 18th to take on the defending SUNYAC Champions in a 3:00 p.m. match-up.
