Brockport Defeats New Paltz 4-0 in Field Hockey SUNYAC Opener
BROCKPORT, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey team lost its State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opener, 4-0, to SUNY Brockport this afternoon.
It took just 55 seconds for the Brockport offense to score the first goal of the game. Stef Pokorski took a through pass from 10 yards in front of the goal and beat Nicole Kovac (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) with a low shot. Fourteen minutes later, Brockport made it a 2-0 game. The Golden Eagles took a 3-0 lead into halftime as the Hawks were outshot 19-1.
In the second half, Pokorski scored her second of the game with a low shot into the corner of the cage for the final score.
Kovac finished with 16 saves for the Hawks. New Paltz will travel to SUNY Morrisville tomorrow afternoon to take on the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m.
