MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Finishing the 100-yard freestyle in 52.84 senior Joanna Masterson (Canandaigua, NY) earned a 7th place finish at 2006 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. She completed the 100-yard freestyle preliminary heat with a new varsity and conference record (52.41), in the eighth place.
Masterson swam 27th (53.91) in the 100-yard freestyle preliminaries a year ago and failed to qualify for finals competition. Thursday night, March 9, Masterson swam to a third place finish in the 50-yard freestyle touching in 24.10. She placed 27th (1:57.15) in the 200-yard freestyle Friday afternoon.
