SUNY IT Edges SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer In Double Overtime
UTICA, NY — This afternoon the SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team lost their final conference game to SUNY IT, 3-2 in double overtime.
SUNY New Paltz (5-11, 1-8) was first on the board. Junior forward Greg Foss (Queensbury, NY) scored his second goal of 2005 to give the Hawks the 1-0 advantage. Senior forward Colin Hillman (Trumansburg, NY) was credited with the assist. SUNY IT (1-7-1, 2-12) tied the affair before halftime.
The Hawks again grabbed a one-goal lead in the second half. Senior forward Joe Fabian (Selden, NY) continued his hot streak, he had two goals and an assist against Vassar, with a goal off a pass from junior midfielder Daniel Libardi (Canaan, NY). The Wildcats tied the contest to send it into overtime.
The teams battled through the first overtime scoreless, before SUNY IT netted the game-winner with 1:31 remaining in the second overtime.
The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team will host New York University this Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 pm.
