SUNY New Paltz Women’s Volleyball Team Spikes Vassar
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — This evening, the SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team defeated Vassar College 3-1.
SUNY New Paltz (13-4) put the Brewers away in four games. Vassar (10-6) took the first game 30-28, but the Hawks fought back and won the next three games 30-23, 30-25, 30-20, respectively. Senior outside hitter Christina Mazurowski (Tonawanda, NY) led the Hawks with 13 kills and five blocks. Senior outside hitter Andrea Kaiser (Blue Point, NY) registered 10 kills and posted a .348 hitting percentage for the evening. Sophomore setter Katie Becofsky (Altamont, NY) piloted the Hawk’s offense with 34 assists and senior libero Christina Butcher (North Salem, NY) totaled 27 digs on defense.
The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team will travel to the Union Invitational on Friday, October 7, for their next match.
