SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer Team Upset by Buffalo State

BUFFALO, NY — he SUNY New Paltz menĂ½s soccer dropped their conference road opener 3-0 to Buffalo State this afternoon.

The Bengals dominated most of the afternoon, out shooting the Hawks 18 to nine. 27 minutes into the contest the Bengals recorded their first goal of the day, and game-winner, off the foot of senior midfielder Richard Namulala (Kenmore, NY). Junior forward Prisco Houndanon (Togo, W. Africa) was credited with the assist. Houndanon would later assist on a second Buffalo State (4-2, 1-0) goal.

Junior goalkeeper Shawn McDonell (West Seneca, NY) recorded seven saves, a shutout and an assist for Buffalo State. Junior goalkeeper Masanari Hotta (Hyogo, Japan) made six saves in the loss for SUNY New Paltz (3-4, 0-1).
