13th Ranked Skidmore Defeats SUNY New Paltz 5-2
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Annie Ledyard scored two goals to lead 13th ranked Skidmore to a 5-2 win over SUNY New Paltz this afternoon.
Ledyard opened the scoring 25 seconds into the contest with an unassisted goal. Ledyard’s tally was the first of two goals by Skidmore in the first 3:10.
Trailing 2-0, junior Shannon Stokes (Accord, NY) scored her first goal of the season to pull the Hawks within a goal at the 15-minute mark.
Ledyard however added a second goal in the 29th minute to close out a four-goal first half for Skidmore (6-4).
Junior Patricia Erikson (Massapequa Park, NY) added a goal for the Hawks (3-7) as well. Erikson has now scored at least one goal in three consecutive games.
