NEW PALTZ, NY — SUNY New Paltz sophomore Musu Jackson-Buckner (Buffalo, NY) will compete at the 2004 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois on May 27-29.
Jackson-Buckner is one of 20 entries in the 200 meter event. The time trials will take place on May 27 at 2:00 p.m. The finals will be held on May 29 at 3:55 p.m.
Jackson-Buckner ran a personal-best time of 25:12 at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship on May 15 to secure a national qualifying spot. She has won back-to-back State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships in the 200 meter event. This year she captured the title with a time of 26:03 at SUNY Cortland on April 24.
Jackson-Buckner is the second SUNY New Paltz track & field athlete to compete at the Division III National Championship in the last three years. In 2002, Andrea Drayss earned a trip to the national championship and competed in the shot put.
