SUNY New Paltz Men’s Tennis Team Defeats Hartwick College, 5-2
NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s tennis team improved to 5-3 on the season with a 5-2 win over Hartwick College this afternoon. Hartwick fell to 1-6 with the loss.
The Hawks won the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches. Seniors Bobby Calise (East Islip, NY) and Brian Palmenteri (Howard Beach, NY) won number two doubles, 8-2 while juniors Josh Greenspan (North Babylon, NY) and Jason Letts (Plattsburgh, NY) recorded a 9-7 victory at number three doubles.
Palmenteri, Greenspan, Letts and sophomore Greg Cichon (Farmingdale, NY) all posted straight set victories in the number three through number six singles matches.
Hartwick earned their two points behind the efforts of juniors Vladimir Vecher and Julian Klein at the top two singles positions.
