Ganje Named NECVA Metro Player of the Week
NEW PALTZ, NY — For the second time in three weeks, SUNY New Paltz outside hitter Chris Ganje (Halfmoon, NY — Shenendehowa HS) has been named the Player of the Week in the North Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association.
In nine games last week, Ganje had a .326 hitting percentage and averaged 5.0 kills, 1.6 digs, and 1.1 blocks. He recorded 22 kills, three blocks, and eight digs in a 3-1 loss to NECVA Metro Division leader Stevens Tech on March 9. The junior finished up a strong week with 23 kills, six digs, seven blocks and a .333 hitting percentage in a 3-2 win at Ramapo on March 13.
Ganje is averaging a team-best 3.9 kills per game. He’s also second on the team in digs (1.6) and fourth in hitting percentage (.280).
The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team is 13-7 overall and 6-3 in the NECVA Metro Division. The Hawks will host New Jersey City University on March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Elting Gym.
