SUNY New Paltz Women’s Basketball Team Falls, 80-46, to First Place Oswego State

OSWEGO, NY — Senior Lindsay Dakin (Andover, CT) scored a team-high nine points and sophomore Tania Liberato (Brentwood, NY) scored seven points and tied her career-high with 10 rebounds but it wasn’t enough for the Hawks as SUNY New Paltz lost 80-46 to first place Oswego State this evening.

Junior Jackie Luszczek (Ithaca, NY) led the Lakers to their seventh straight win by scoring a game-high 14 points with four three-point field goals. Freshmen Kelly Mraz (Johnstown, NY) and Jessica Tremblay (Albany, NY) along with junior Kristin Sterling (Oneida, NY) all finished with 11 points. Oswego State improved to 14-3 overall and remain atop the SUNYAC standings with a 9-1 mark.

Junior Tarah Norris (Port Jervis, NY) and freshman Kelly Germain (Albany, NY) each netted eight points for the Hawks who fell to 5-13 overall and 2-9 in the SUNYAC.

New Paltz returns to the court when they entertain SUNYAC rival Plattsburgh on Friday, February 6th at 6:00 pm.
