SUNY New Paltz Men’s Swimming Team Places 4th at RPI Invitational
TROY, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s swimming team placed fourth among seven teams with 159 points at the 2004 Henry Kumpf Invitational held at Robinson Pool on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute this afternoon. Ithaca took home the team title with 463 points.
The Hawks were led by senior Jon Sousa (Albany, NY) who registered a time of 2:00.29 to win the 200-meter butterfly. He also came in fourth in the 200-meter individual medley in a time of 2:03.31.
Sousa teamed up with his brother Jay, junior Kent Yeung (Flushing, NY) and senior Mark Costello (Staten Island, NY) to finish in second place in the 400-meter medley relay.
Yeung swam to a second place finish in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 48.58.
