College-Youth Symphony of the Hudson Valley

NEW PALTZ — On Sunday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m., the College-Youth Symphony, a 70-piece orchestra composed of SUNY New Paltz and area college students as well as high school students from twenty-five schools in the region, will perform at the Julien J. Studley Theatre at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Dr. Carole Cowan will lead the talented group in a varied program including “Festive Overture” of Shostakovich, “Finlandia” of Sibelius, and “Carmen” Suite No. 1 of Bizet. The College-Community Chorale joins the Youth Symphony in performance of excerpts from the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan.
