SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer Team Ties Fredonia State in OT Thriller

NEW PALTZ, NY — A defensive battle that went into double overtime ended in a scoreless tie this afternoon between SUNY New Paltz and Fredonia State.

Both teams were unable to capitalize on their scoring opportunities this afternoon. Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Borchard (Williamsville, NY) had eight saves for Fredonia and junior goalkeeper Brendan Morris (Hopewell Junction, NY) had seven saves for New Paltz. Both goalies played the entire 110 minutes of the game. Senior forward Mario Lavacca (Port Washington, NY) took six of New Paltz s 17 shots.
