SUNY New Paltz Men s Soccer Team Victorious Against Oswego State
NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men s soccer team defeated conference rival Oswego State 2-0 this afternoon for their second consecutive win.
Freshman midfielder Gregg Spinelli (Highland, NY) scored his first collegiate goal in the 21st minute on an assist by junior midfielder Bryan Smith (Washingtonville, NY) to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. With less than two minutes remaining in the game, junior midfielder Michael Dodge (Holbrook, NY) scored his first goal of the season off a pass from freshman midfielder Chris Smith (Washingtonville, NY).
Junior goalkeeper John Spuhler (Fulton, NY) had five saves for Oswego and junior goalkeeper Brendan Morris (Hopewell Junction, NY) had four saves for the Hawks. The Hawks are 4-6-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the SUNYAC.
