SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer Team Falls 3-0 to Richard Stockton

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Hawks men s soccer team was shutout 3-0 at Richard Stockton this evening. New Paltz fell to 0-2 on the young season and the Ospreys improved to 2-2-1.

Richard Stockton had three different players score a goal and Lou Vaz (W. Long Branch, NJ) notched two assists. Scott Adams (Myerstown, PA) opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season at 7:31. Dowaine Green (Neptune, NJ) gave Stockton a 2-0 lead by netting a goal two and a half minutes later.

Tom Ferron (Ringwood, NJ) added an insurance goal by heading in a corner kick at 63:07 from Vaz who registered his second assist of the game. The Hawks managed just four shots on goal and Richard Stockton goalkeeper Sean Dallas (Cherry Hill, NJ) stopped all four shots for his first shutout of the season. New Paltz goalkeeper Brendan Morris (Hopewell Junction, NY) made six stops for the Hawks.

New Paltz heads up to Schenectady, NY to play in the Union Classic this weekend. The Hawks will battle Union College on Saturday (Sept. 13) at 12:00 pm and RPI on Sunday (Sept. 14) at 2:30 pm.
