Men’s Tennis Team Defeats Hartwick 6-1
ONEONTA, NY – — The SUNY New Paltz men’s tennis, playing its third match in three days, defeated Hartwick 6-1 this afternoon.
The Hawks, who lost a hard-fought 5-2 match to Oneonta yesterday, won five of the six singles matches and swept the doubles to raise their record to 5-4.
New Paltz will play its first home match of the season against RPI on Tuesday (Apr. 15) at 3:00 p.m.
Singles: 1) Vlad Vecher (H) defeated Brad Breakstone (NP) 6- 4, 6-2. 2) Nick Finger (NP) defeated Dino Ragona (H) 10-8, 5-2 (retired). 3) Bobby Calise (NP) defeated Julian Klein (H) 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. 4) Brian Palmentari (NP) defeated Dave Plossl (H) 6-1, 6-2. 5) Josh Greenspan (NP) defeated Mike Chapin (H) 6-2, 6-1. 6) Jason Letts (NP) defeated John Roth (H) 6-4, 6-2.
Doubles: 1) Breakstone/Palmentari (NP) defeated Vecher/Klein (H) 8-6. 2) Finger/Calise (NP) defeated Ragona/Plossl (H) 8-4. 3) Greenspan/Letts (NP) defeated Chapin/Jeff Pierce (H) 8-0.
