NEW PALTZ — Martha Tait-Watkins, Sr. Career Counselor for the SUNY New Paltz Career Advising & Fieldwork Center, has attained certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. (NBCC). She joins more than 30,000 NCCs who are certified through the NBCC.
The NBCC, located in Greensboro, NC, is the largest national counselor credentialing organization in the United States. National certification promotes professional accountability and ensures that consumers’ rights are protected through the NBCC Code of Ethics.
As a newly designated NCC, Tait-Watkins has fulfilled the requirements for the NCC credential. Those requirements include a graduate degree in counseling from a regionally accredited institution, supervised post-master’s counseling experience, and a passing score on the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification (NCE).
