SUNY New Paltz alumni to receive awards
NEW PALTZ — The Alumni Association of the State University of New York at New Paltz will honor this year’s outstanding alumni on Nov. 23, at The Terrace restaurant located on the New Paltz campus. The alumni awards are given each year to alumni who have distinguished themselves in their personal endeavors and reflect the values and mission of SUNY New Paltz.
“The candidates receiving alumni awards this year represent the best in volunteerism and dedication to the college,” said Chuck Lynch, president of the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association, Inc.
Nominations of the award recipients to be honored at the reception are made by campus community members and are reviewed by the Alumni Association. The following awards will be presented to the following alumni:
- Alumnus of the Year, presented to Vincent Cozzolino in recognition of his professional achievements.
- Distinguished Alumni Service Award, presented to Steve Klein in recognition of his outstanding service to the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association, Inc.
- Distinguished Teacher Award, presented to Dr. Margaret Wade Lewis in recognition of her innovative teaching and outstanding accomplishments.
- Recent Graduate Achievement Award, presented to Rachel Reuben in recognition of her professional accomplishments within her chosen occupation.
Lynch will host the award ceremony, which begins at 3:30 p.m., Nov. 23, in The Terrace. Refreshments will be served. The SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association Inc., is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to foster and develop the interests of the university and its alumni.
