Vassar Ends Hawks Winning Streak at 12

NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis win streak ended today at 12 with a 9-0 loss to Vassar. The loss drops the Hawks’ record to 12-2 on the season. Vassar moves to 4-1.

In addition to ending New Paltz’s win streak, the Brewers also handed four Hawks their first singles losses of the season. Becky Sparacin (Goshen, NY), Jennifer Neumann (Port Jervis, NY), Amie Larson (Port Jervis, NY), and Sara Goldstein all fell from the unbeaten ranks. Sparacin lost in a hard-fought three-set match to Diya Uberoi 6-3, 4-6, 2-6 while Crevoiserat, Neumann, and Goldstein were defeated in straight sets.

Sparacin also lost her first doubles match of the season with partner Kerry Farrell 8-2 to Jessica Shofler and Alexis Neider. Sparacin and Farrell are now an impressive 13-1 on the year.
