Jackson-Buckner Scores Twice As Hawks Defeat Wells
AURORA, NY — Freshman attacker Musu Jackson-Buckner (Buffalo, NY) scored with 6:47 remaining in the second half to lift SUNY New Paltz to a 2-1 road win over Wells College this afternoon.
Jackson-Buckner, who accounted for both of the Hawks’ goals, knocked home a pass from freshman midfielder Lisa Wong (Colts Neck, NJ) to break a 1-1 tie. The victory improved the Hawks record to 3-7 and helped the SUNY New Paltz field hockey team reach its highest win total in the three-year history of the progam.
Wells (4-4) grabbed a 1-0 lead three minutes into the game when senior midfielder Tracy Chappell (Liverpool, NY) put home a pass from sophomore defender Kate McLaren (Wilbraham, MA) to give the Express an early advantage.
Jackson-Buckner pulled the Hawks (3-7) even four minutes later capitalizing off a pass from junior midfielder Allison Taub (Greenlawn, NY).
