PURCHASE, NY — After dropping a 10-0 game to Manhattanville on Saturday, the SUNY New Paltz field hockey team rebounded Sunday to win its first game of the season over Wheelock 1-0 and claim third place in Manhattanville’s Valiant Classic.
Patricia Erikson (Massapequa Park, NY) scored the game’s only goal 24:45 into the first half and the Hawks played stellar defense in the second to make the lead stand en route to the win.
Junior Kelly Anderson (Kingston, NY) was named to the all-tournament team for her play over the weekend.
