New Paltz Goes 0-3 at Early Bird Invitational
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team went 0-3 this weekend at the Skidmore College Early Bird Volleyball Tournament.
The Hawks opened the tournament by falling to eventual tournament winner Skidmore 3-0 (17-30, 14-30, 27-30). New Paltz then lost 3-1 to RIT (29-31, 25-30, 30-28, 17-30) and 3-0 to St. Rose (13-30, 20-30, 29-31).
Jackie Goldstein (Port Jervis, NY) led the Hawks in kills with 31 in the three matches. For her play, Goldstein was also named to the all-tournament team.
Wendy Del Orbe (Bronx, NY) had 31 assists for the Hawks over the weekend and added 25 digs. Christina Butcher (North Salem, NY) led the way for New Paltz in digs with 42 while Denee Miggins (Kingston, NY) contributed 22 and Andrea Kaiser (Blue Point, NY) finished with 20.
