Men’s Tennis Beats Up On USMMA

NEW PALTZ — The New Paltz men’s tennis team got on the plus side this weekend, running its record to 3-2 on the year with an 8-1 drubbing of The United States Merchant Marine Academy.

All six players won in their singles matches, and the Hawks took two out of three in doubles. Ed Paulinski (Floral Park, NY) won his match 6-3, 6-4, Tiby Taran (Brooklyn Kings, NY) won 6-3, 6-3, Brad Breakstone (Mount Kisco, NY) won 4-6, 6-3, 10-3, Bobby Calise (East Islip, NY) won 6-0, 6-2, Brian Palmenteri (Howard Beach, NY) won 6-1, 6-3, and Josh Greenspan (North Babylon, NY) won 6-0, 6-2. In doubles play, Breakstone and Calise were 8-4 winners and David Bridglall (Bronx, NY) and Palmenteri cruised 8-1.

Men’s tennis next plays Wednesday at RPI at 3:30pm.
