Men, Women’s Track & Field Compete At Columbia

MANHATTAN — The men and women’s track and field teams competed at the Columbia University Invitational Saturday in Manhattan.

Men’s Highlights:

Adam Thyberg (Blue Point, NY) finished 6th in the men’s pole vault clearing 4.05 meters. Josh Moore placed 11th in the hammer throw with a 34.54- meter throw. Chris Tuttle (Pouquag, NY) finished 16th in the men’s 5000 meters with a time of 16:25.01.

In the men’s 800 meters, Justin Lee (East Fishkill, NY) took 21st place (1:59.08) and Gary Beers (Pearl River, NY) was 32nd (2:02.75.

In the men’s 1500, Phil Goodwin (Rochester, NY) was 22nd (4:04.54), Sean McCormick (Suffern, NY) was 32nd (4:13.07), Daren Dieter (Philadelphia, PA) took 37th (4:18.10), and John Zarella (Mahopac, NY) was 39th (4:19.40).

Women’s Highlights:

Sara Joki (Schuylerville, NY) finished 6th in the women’s high jump clearing 1.43 meters. Rebecca Demeri (Wantagh, NY) was 13th in the women’s 5000 meters with a time of 20:25.85. Stephanie Ramsey (Shelton, CT) was 13th in the women’s long jump with a jump of 4.58 meters. Andrea Drayss (Island Park, NY) threw for 12.09 meters in the shot put for 8th overall.

Natasha Dudar (New Paltz, NY) took 15th in the triple jump (9.79m). Dudar was also 4th in the pole vault (2.65m) and Justine Trybendis (Hudson Falls, NY) was 5th (2.50m).

Jacki Goldstein finished 11th in the women’s discus (23.29m) and 7th in the javelin (30.16). Drayss finished three spots behind in 10th (23.89m).
