Utica/Rome Duo Too Much For Men’s Basketball

UTICA, NY — Wildcat guards Kazy Payne and Will Mensah combined for 62 of their team’s 80 points Tuesday night as New Paltz fell for the sixth time in conference play 80-67. Both players made more than half of their shots from the field and they combined to make 61% of their three point attempts (13 for 24).

Forward Pat Stirk (Milford, CT) led the Hawks with 20 points. Guards Ben Davey (Andover, NJ) and Birchell Glenn (Queens, NY) added 12 points apiece. New Paltz looks to turn things around this weekend in two SUNYAC games. Friday the Hawks host the 4-1 Buffalo State Bengals at 8:00pm, and Saturday the 2-3 Fredonia State Blue Devils at 4:00pm.
