Pat Stirk Named SUNYAC Player of the Week
NEW PALTZ — Senior forward Pat Stirk (Milford, CT) of the SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team was named State University of New York Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on January 20th.
Stirk averaged 22.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game, while shooting 62% from the field in conference games against Utica/Rome, Buffalo State, and Fredonia.
Stirk was instrumental in the first conference win of the season for New Paltz Saturday against Fredonia. He dominated both ends of the court scoring 37 points, pulling down 12 rebounds and blocking six shots in the Hawks’ 73-65 victory.
Currently, Stirk ranks in the top 20 in the entire nation for blocked shots per game.
