Men’s Soccer Wraps Up 6th Place

UTICA — New Paltz Men’s Soccer, with a 6-0 victory over Utica/Rome, wrapped up sixth place in the SUNYAC, narrowly missing the conference tournament.

Guido Tiberia (Manhasset, NY) led the way for the Hawks with two goals and Mario Lavacca (Port Washington, NY), Brian Smith (Washingtonville, NY), Elmer Velasquez (Miami, FL), and John D’Eredita (Lagrange, NY) each had one in the 6-0 victory. Tom McCauley (Holbrook, NY) picked up two assists in the match while Tim Van Wyen (Sayville, NY), Olu Osinowo (Bronx, NY) and Brian Hanley (Highland, NY) each had one. New Paltz outshot the Wildcats by a 34-10 margin in the match and goalkeepers Kevin Smith (Niskayuna, NY) and Michael Vaughan-Cherubin (Albany, NY) combined for 5 saves.
