Men’s Soccer Falls to TCNJ

NEW PALTZ — The New Paltz men’s soccer team lost a close one on Tuesday to highly regarded College of New Jersey. Missed opportunities plagued the Hawks in the first half and they found themselves down at the break after a goal from Albie Lobatto. Lobatto struck again on an assist from Steve Jenks early in the second half making it 2-0. Mario Lavacca (Port Washington, NY) cut the lead to one midway through the half giving the Hawks life. New Paltz traded scoring chances with the Lions for the rest of the match but were unable to find the equalizer. New Paltz ended the game with a 13-10 edge in shots and goalkeeper Kevin Smith (Niskayuna, NY) ended up with 3 saves in the contest. New Paltz hits the road next weekend to open their conference season with games at Potsdam and Plattsburgh.
