Field Hockey falls to Cortland

NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey Team lost on Saturday to powerful Cortland 7-0. The loss drops the Hawks to 1-5 on the year. Cortland remains unbeaten.

The Red Dragons took a 2-0 lead into halftime on goals from Julie Gentner and Erin Ryder. In the second half, Cortland maintained pressure striking five times on two goals from Stacey Russell and one apiece from Amy Gendron, Jennifer Angelillo, and Katie Campbell. The Hawks were outshot in the game 36-2 and goalkeeper Liz Clarke (Stone Ridge, NY) made 24 saves for New Paltz.
