Hawks Prevail In Rescheduled Contest
NEW PALTZ — After two failed attempts to play outside at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, the decision was made to switch the men’s tennis match indoors at SUNY New Paltz to assure the contest would be played.
New Paltz rolled past Hunter, 7-2, on Monday at the university air structure.
The (3-5) Hawks swept the three doubles matches to help secure the victory. New Paltz’s two losses came at first and third singles.
Freshmen Brian Palmenteri, Bradley Breakstone and Bobby Calise all won twice.
New Paltz will host regional tennis power Rensselaer at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
