Men’s Basketball Team Drops SUNYAC Opener
BROCKPORT — Four Brockport players reached double figures, as the Golden Eagles dealt SUNY New Paltz its worst loss of the young season, 103-78, on Friday night at Tuttle North Gymnasium in Brockport.
In a game that featured a combined 55 fouls, unbeaten Brockport (2-0 overall, 2-0 SUNYAC) outscored the Hawks by 12 points from the foul line and connected on five more three pointers. Three of the Golden Eagles’ five starters reached double figures, and two more players got there off the bench.
Meanwhile, freshman guard Vinnie Francavilla led New Paltz (1-3 overall, 0-1 SUNYAC) with 16 points off the bench. Mac Cavanaugh (13 points) was the other Hawk in double figures, but six others contributed at least six points each.
New Paltz will try to get back on the winning track at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Geneseo.
