Hawks Collect Women’s Soccer Win

UTICA — Therese Nordlund and Kathryn Bart assisted on each other’s goal as SUNY New Paltz defeated SUNY Utica/Rome, 4-0, in women’s soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

Joella Knapp and Michele Branca supplied the (2-12 overall, 1-8 SUNYAC) Hawks’ other two goals, as New Paltz completed its conference schedule.

Goalkeeper Kim Baldwin made seven saves in goal to preserve her second collegiate shutout, while (1-12 overall, 0-9 SUNYAC) Wildcats’ counterpart Jen Rosegard saved 20 shots in the loss.

New Paltz hosts Stevens Tech on Saturday at 12 p.m. in the front end of a Hawk soccer doubleheader. At 2 p.m. Saturday, the New Paltz men face Elmira.
