Men’s Soccer Team Loses Home Opener
NEW PALTZ — Adam O’Shea’s goal just 1:04 into the contest was the difference as SUNY Plattsburgh defeated SUNY New Paltz, 5-0, in both teams’ State University of New York Athletic Conference opener on Friday afternoon.
Eddie Eck had three assists to help lead the defending SUNYAC champion (6-0, 1-0 SUNYAC) Cardinals, which are currently ranked 13th nationally, to the victory. New Paltz (0-6, 0-1 SUNYAC), meanwhile, trailed just 2-0 at the half, but was held scoreless by Plattsburgh netminder John Schraner, who made six saves.
New Paltz returns to action with a home match against Potsdam tomorrow at 1 p.m.
