Men Third, Women Fourth At Vassar Invite

POUGHKEEPSIE — The SUNY New Paltz men’s cross-country team placed third (53 points), while the women’s team was fourth (103 points) at the Vassar College Invitational on Saturday.

Phil Goodwin (27:28) finished fourth to lead five Hawk men in the top 15. Other finishers for the men were: Matt Brown (10th, 28:03), Corey Crawford (11th, 28:05), Chris Tuttle (13th, 28:27), Justin Lee (15th, 28:34), John Zarella (20th, 30:05), Shaun Roth (23rd, 30:15), Kevin Harrison (27th, 31:03), Michael Dolce (28th, 31:05) and Matt Gabriel (30th, 31:13).

On the women’s side, Rebecca Demeri (20:53) and Crista Szymanski (20:55) finished 18th and 19th, respectively, while Kristi Markwalter (26th, 21:24), Alison Tracy (28th, 21:35) and Dawson Gerhardt (30th, 21:51) also scored. Newcomer Cristi Wilson (23:42) was 52nd.

New Paltz is at the New York University Invitational next Saturday at 10 a.m.
