Field Hockey Falls To Fourth Ranked Cortland
CORTLAND — Hawk goalkeeper Liz Clarke made 19 saves but SUNY New Paltz still lost in field hockey, 4-0, to nationally ranked SUNY Cortland on Saturday afternoon.
Julie Gentner had the game-winner just 1:36 into the contest, and the (6-0 overall, 3-0 SUNYAC) Red Dragons spaced out evenly their other three goals over the remainder of the game.
The (0-7 overall, 0-4 SUNYAC) Hawks were outshot 41-1 by Cortland, ranked fourth in the latest STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Poll.
New Paltz is at Montclair State on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
