Union Beats Hawks In Women’s Soccer

NEW PALTZ — Melissa Matusewicz’s four goals and Corinne Hennessy’s two goals helped pace Union College past SUNY New Paltz, 9-0, in women’s soccer on Tuesday.

Union (6-0), ranked 19th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Poll, was ahead 4-0 after the first 20 minutes.

New Paltz goalkeeper Kim Baldwin came into the game with 19 minutes left in the first half, and collected 15 of the Hawks’ 17 saves.

New Paltz hosts Fredonia on Friday at 4 p.m.
