SUNY New Paltz Art Lecture Series Presents Lecture by Emmy-winning Graphic Designer James Victore
(NEW PALTZ, NY) — At 7:30 PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2000 the Art Lecture Series welcomes James Victore to SUNY New Paltz. This independent graphic designer will present a slide lecture in Lecture Center 112. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
James Victore is a self-taught, independent graphic designer whose work includes publishing, posters, advertising, illustration, and animation. His client roster includes Moet and Chandon, The Shakespeare Project, The New York Times, Electra Nonesuch, and many others. Victore has had solo exhibitions of work in Osaka, Japan and Prague in the Czech Republic.
Among Victore’s awards are an Emmy for television animation, a gold medal from the Broadcast Designers Association, the Grand Prix from the Brno Biennale, and Gold and Silver Medals from the New York Art Director’s Club. His posters are in the permanent collections of the Palais du Louvre, Paris, and the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. Victore recently relocated his studio to Beacon, New York.
