NEW PALTZ — Chris Wright had nine kills and two digs to help SUNY New Paltz earn a non-conference men’s volleyball victory over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, 15-1, 15-8, 15-3, on Tuesday night at Elting Gymnasium.
Miguel Soriano (eight kills, five digs), Sean Riley (five blocks) and Matt Roy (40 assists) also contributed for New Paltz, which improves to 5-8. The Mariners, meanwhile, drop to 7-10.
New Paltz returns to Elting to face local rival Vassar College at 7 p.m. next Tuesday.
