Women’s Basketball Team Remains Winless
NEW PALTZ — Meredith Kurisko and Robin Shields did their best to keep New Paltz in the game, but the Hawks shot only 33 percent from the field as a team in losing to Plattsburgh, 77-50, on Friday night at Elting Gymnasium.
Shields had 18 points and eight rebounds, while Kurisko had 12 points and 12 rebounds to highlight the New Paltz effort. Lisa Burriss (eight points, three rebounds, two blocks, two steals), Katie Monahan (six points, four rebounds), Colleen Mower (four points, three rebounds) and Jennifer Varrone (two points, four rebounds, two steals) also scored for the Hawks, who fall to 0-9 overall, 0-6 SUNYAC.
New Paltz will host Potsdam (0-7 overall, 0-4 SUNYAC) tomorrow at 2 p.m., with one team guaranteed its first win of the season.
