Women’s Soccer Win Streak Ends At Three
POUGHKEEPSIE — SUNY New Paltz’s three-game win streak came to an end on Tuesday at Vassar College. The Brewers scored two goals in the second half to defeat New Paltz, 2-0, in women’s soccer.
New Paltz (5-2-0), the 10th-ranked team in the latest National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America/Adidas Women’s NCAA Division III Northeast Region poll, was outshot for only the third time this season, 15-9.
Shannon Carroll had both Vassar goals, first scoring off a cross from Annie Izaki at 64:56 then teaming again with Izaki nine and a half minutes later at 73:45.
Laura Neander made 10 saves in the loss for the Hawks. New Paltz resumes its SUNYAC schedule this weekend, hosting Geneseo (Friday at 4 p.m.) and Brockport (Saturday at 1 p.m.).
