Epilepsy Conference to be Held at SUNY New Paltz
NEW PALTZ — “Update for Educators: Responding to the Needs of Students with Epilepsy” is the title of a evening conference to be held at the State University of New York at New Paltz on Tuesday, September 15. The program is sponsored by the College’s School of Education, the Mid-Hudson Teacher Center, and the Epilepsy Foundation of Southern NY(EFSNY).
Speakers for the conference are Carol Solomon, associate director of the EFSNY, and Ann Marie Bezuyen, director of education for EFSNY. Solomon will discuss the history of epilepsy, and the need to dispel the many myths that still surround the disorder. Bezuyen will present a seizure recognition and first aid training session.
The program will be held from 4-7pm in the Terrace Conference Center at SUNY New Paltz.
