NYU Philosophy Professor to speak at SUNY New Paltz
NEW PALTZ — John Richardson, a faculty member in the philosophy department at New York University, will speak at the State University of New York at New Paltz on Thursday, April 16. Richardson, who is the author of two books, “Nietzsche’s System” and another on existential epistemology, will discuss Nietzsche’s sense of “will to power.” Richardson argues that there is a secondary meaning, beyond the metaphysical one.
Richardson’s current work focuses on the topic of biological teleology and its applications in the history of philosophy, especially to Aristotle, Kant and Nietzsche.
The discussion, sponsored by the Philosophy Club, will take place in Jacobson Faculty Tower 1010 at 5pm.
