New Paltz Loses Women’s Basketball Contest
ONEONTA — A 21-point first half deficit was too much for SUNY New Paltz to overcome in Saturday’s 79-51 SUNYAC women’s basketball loss to Oneonta at Dewar Arena.
Sonya Mkoloma scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the second half, and added a game-high 12 rebounds to help the (7-8 overall, 5-7 SUNYAC) Hawks made a better showing over the final 20 minutes against the nearly flawless Red Dragons.
New Paltz will hope to get back on the winning track at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at home against Utica/Rome.
