June 5 auction and wine tasting in Manhattan to benefit SUNY New Paltz’ Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art
NEW PALTZ – The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at the State University of New York at New Paltz presents its fourth annual Fine Wine + Fine Art benefit auction on Tuesday, June 5, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Twenty Four Fifth ballroom at 24 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
The event features a tasting of wines selected by Kevin Zraly of Windows on the World Wine School, plus an auction of fine art, destination vacations, and fine wine from private collections. Guests at the June 5th event will also enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres and a Hudson Valley table of cheeses and artisanal chocolates.
Zraly is a wine educator, the author of the best-selling “Windows on the World Complete Wine Course” book and is the winner of the 2011 James Beard Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. The Windows on the World Wine School, established by Zraly, has been named “The Best Wine School in New York City” by New York magazine. Zraly is also a 1974 graduate of SUNY New Paltz.
Peter Bienstock and Lee Sider are honorary co-chairs for the event. “We are very excited by this year’s auction items, which include exemplary works by artists who live or work in New York’s Hudson Valley. The auction also features unique wines that cannot be purchased at retail stores,” says Bienstock. “This is a truly creative way to help support the exhibition and programs at The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, a center for art and culture of the Hudson Valley.”
Tickets are $150 per person or $1,350 for a table of ten. Information about the event and tickets are available at www.newpaltz.edu/museum or (845) 257-3844. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. on the evening of the event. To view auction lots, visit www.biddingforgood.com/dorsky.
