Apply now! Literacy tutoring for grades 2-12 returns for summer 2025
The Literacy Center at SUNY New Paltz is now accepting applications for the summer 2025 Literacy Tutoring Program, which is open to all students in grades 2-12 who need additional literacy support.
The Literacy Tutoring Program connects children with candidates in New Paltz’s Master’s in Literacy Education degree program, for targeted instructional support.
Just like in the spring, all services will be provided in a fully online learning environment this summer.
There will be 14 literacy tutoring sessions during July 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 30 and 31.
All tutoring sessions are on-line, two hours each. Laptop or desktop computers are needed. All tutoring sessions are from 4:45 – 6:45 p.m.
Children accepted for participation are required to attend all 14 literacy tutoring sessions.
Tutors are trained to provide individualized reading and writing lessons to students of various ages, with supervision and guidance from professors in the School of Education.
Tuition for the summer program is $75 per child, which is due at the time of acceptance. Spaces are limited, so please apply now by clicking this form. Confirmation of participation will be sent via email by Friday, June 27.
If you have accessibility questions or require accommodations to fully participate in these sessions, please contact Literacy Center Coordinator Sam Slotnick at 845-257-2809 or slotnics@newpaltz.edu.
