Assistant Professor Hyunchul Park published in Electronic Journal of Probability
Assistant Professor of Mathematics Hyunchul Park has original research in the latest issue of the Electronic Journal of Probability, a top peer-reviewed journal in this discipline.
Park partnered with Remning Song, a professor from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, on “Spectral heat content for α-stable processes in C1,1 open sets,” a paper discussing new research into isotropic stable processes.
Spectral heat content measures the total heat in a domain where the temperature outside the domain is kept at zero. Together, Park and Song established a short-time expansion of the spectral heat content for isotropic stable processes.
The research marks Park’s ninth journal publication in the field of probability. His most recent research has surrounded studying geometry of domains in the Euclidean space using spectral objects such as trace, heat content, or torsional rigidity with respect to jump processes. He has taught at SUNY New Paltz since 2016.
