Time is running out! Unvaccinated students have just days to act to avoid course withdrawal

SUNY New Paltz is extending two key deadlines to allow unvaccinated students a few more days to comply with SUNY’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate and avoid being withdrawn from their in-person courses.

As previously announced, all SUNY students are now required to show proof of full vaccination by Sept. 27, 2021.

Those who do not comply will be withdrawn from in-person classes and face full tuition liability, per SUNY’s policy.

First deadline extension: Get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by Sept. 20

Students who have not yet been vaccinated can still get the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine in time to meet this deadline.

You must get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by Sept. 20, then upload your info to the COVID-19 profile at my.newpaltz.edu, to avoid course withdrawal.

The Student Health Service has a limited number of Johnson & Johnson vaccinations available. You can make an appointment to receive the J&J vaccine on campus by calling the Student Health Service (845-257-3400).

Second deadline extension: Submit an exemption request by Sept. 20

New Paltz students who have legitimate and documentable medical or religious reasons why they cannot receive the COVID-19 vaccine can request an exemption.

The College is extending the exemption request deadline to Sept. 20.

Medical exemption requests must be accompanied by a doctor’s note.

Religious exemption requests require a notarized signature.

Forms and instructions are available at the Student Health Service website.
