New Paltz came in at No. 2 in New York State (and first in NY among four-year colleges) in a new higher education report that cross references tuition prices and LGBTQ+ support on campus.

Student Loan Hero, an education platform that offers financial tools to help current and former students manage debt, had SUNY New Paltz at No. 29 overall in its nationwide survey of affordable, LGBTQ-friendly colleges and universities.

This list compares tuition data against an index created by the nonprofit organization Campus Pride, which evaluates colleges on a one-to-five-star scale based on policies, administrative support, community involvement and other factors.

New Paltz maintains a 4.5-star rating on Campus Pride, which is the highest rating in the SUNY system.
