New Paltz named a Top 25 Best Value nationwide in 2021 College Consensus ranking
SUNY New Paltz was rated No. 25 on College’s Consensus’s 2021 list of the Best Value Colleges & Universities in the United States, earning the highest ranking of any SUNY school included on the list.
College Consensus is a unique higher education evaluation tool that aggregates two datasets – college rankings from reputable outlets like the U.S. News & World Report, and verified student reviews from trusted websites like Niche – to generate scores for U.S. universities.
Their approach applies social listening tools and techniques to get a picture what real students, faculty and alumni are saying about colleges and universities in online reviews, as a complement to more traditional rankers in the news media.
College Consensus adds tuition rates into their formula for the Best Value College & Universities list, which includes large regional public universities, small liberal arts colleges, evangelical and Catholic colleges, military academies and historically black colleges and universities, among other institutions.
This is just the latest in a long list of accolades recognizing the high-value return on investment a SUNY New Paltz education provides to students. Most recently, the College made the Top 50 in the national Social Mobility Index, a measure of how well colleges and universities help their students climb the socioeconomic ladder.
